BPSO deputies, bloodhound find toddler safe after two-hour search

BEAUREGARD PARISH -- A two-year-old boy, who was discovered missing from a camp site on the Sabine River on Sunday, was found safe the same day following a search by Beauregard authorities.

According to Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Joe Toler, the search included deputies and the department's chase team.

Toler said searchers used Deputy "Susie," one of the department's bloodhounds. He said she followed the scent to a wooded area where the boy was located.

Toler said the toddler was discovered missing around 2 a.m. Sunday. He was found safe around 4 a.m.
