Rosepine woman accused of forgery, unauthorized use of access card

VERNON PARISH -- A 35-year-old Rosepine woman is accused of forgery and unauthorized use of an access card.

According to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office, Regina Prether-Miller is accused of using a debit card and issuing numerous checks without the consent or knowledge of the alleged victim.

Prether-Miller was booked into the Vernon Parish Jail on one count of identity theft, two counts of unauthorized use of an access card and three counts of forgery.

Bond was set at $21,000. She remains in the parish jail on a detainer for outstanding warrants from Beauregard Parish.

The case remains under investigation.

The arrests are a result of a joint investigation conducted by VPSO detectives and the Rosepine Police Department.
