DeRidder man booked on attempted second-degree murder

BEAUREGARD PARISH -- A DeRidder man has been booked on attempted second-degree murder following an investigation into a disturbance that happened Dec. 18 at a DeRidder home.

Joshua Deans, 22, had already been booked on felony theft in the case.

Deans is accused of stabbing a man during the domestic disturbance.

Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Joe Toler said bond in the case is set at $835,000.

Toler said the victim is expected to recover.

Toler said Deans' initial arrest was Dec. 19.
