Locals garner NSU ROTC honors

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Military Science hosted an awards ceremony recently to recognize cadets in the 64th Demo Battalion for accomplishments during the Fall 2013 semester. Some locals were honored. They were:

MS-IV (senior level) cadets honored and their awards are as follows:
Cadet Walter Floyd of DeRidder, ROTC Honors;
Cadet Angel Salom-Acosta of Fort Polk, Cadet Scholar, ROTC Honors, Platinum Medal Athlete, Recruiting Award;
Cadet Kimberly Taylor of Leesville, Cadet Honors, ROTC Honors;


MS III (junior level) cadets honored and their awards are as follows:
Cadet Joel Fantauzzi of Leesville, Dean’s List, Recruiting Award;
Cadet Paul Lambert of Leesville, Cadet Honors Award, Platinum Medal Athlete, Perfect Attendance Award, Color Guard Award; and
Cadet SarahJane Sablay, of Leesville ROTC Honors, Color Guard Award.


MS II (sophomore level) cadets honored and their awards are as follows:
Cadet Gavin Guidry of Elizabeth, Color Guard Award; and

MS I (freshman level) cadets honored and their awards are as follows:
Cadet Jordan Cotto of Leesville, Gold Medal Athlete, Color Guard Award
