Triple murder trial set May 19 in DeRidder

BEAUREGARD PARISH -- The trial for the man accused in the 2011 deaths of a Dry Creek woman and her two young daughters is set May 19 in 36th Judicial District Court in DeRidder.

Christopher Bounds is accused of killing 40-year-old Patricia Kreuzberger, 10-year-old Mya and 5-year-old Nichole. He is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count each of armed robbery, aggravated burglary and aggravated arson.

According to the Beauregard Parish District Attorney's Office, Bounds has been deemed competent to stand trial by the court. He pleaded not guilty in the case in November.

The victims were found in a burned home in Dry Creek in February 2011.

The Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office determined that all three victims died from causes other than the fire. Their deaths were classified as homicides. Fire investigators also found that the fire was intentionally set.

Bounds is also slated to stand trial on May 19 in a separate case involving charges of aggravated rape and sexual battery of a minor, aggravated burglary, aggravated second-degree battery and resisting an officer with force or violence.
