Hearing this week in cases of women accused in Ragley shooting death

BEAUREGARD PARISH -- A hearing on a motion in the cases of two women accused in the shooting death of a Ragley man is set this week in 36th Judicial District Court.

A motion to sever will be heard Thursday in the cases of 54-year-old Catherine Anderson and 50-year-old Cheryl Schonsby.

The women are accused in the death of 53-year-old Jerry Stover. If the motion is granted, their cases will be handled at trial separately.

Stover's body was found outside his U.S. 171 home in December 2012.

Anderson, Stover's live-in girlfriend, and her friend, Schonsby, were arrested following an investigation. The women face charges of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Their trials are set May 19.
