VPSO seeking suspect in stolen check case

LEESVILLE -- The Vernon Parish Sheriff'’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect.  
According to authorities, the VPSO received a report in which a citizen indicated that bank checks were stolen from their residence.  
Authorities said upon further investigation, it was discovered that checks were written in Georgetown and Bellmead, Texas, which are towns located in close proximity to the Killeen ,Texas area.  
"It is believed that the suspect is dressed in black, medical scrubs and may have arrived at various stores in a silver/grey sedan. The suspect may have had a black female in his company but the female did not conduct any transactions. There is a possibility that the male utilized a Military Identification Card when presenting the checks," a VPSO release states.
