Impromptu Players begin 32nd season with 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat'

DERIDDER -- The Impromptu Players will begin their 32nd season with the musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat."
This fun and witty take on the familiar story of Joseph and his 11 brothers was written by Broadway legends Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber and has been a favorite since it debuted thirty years ago.
Performances are Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m. for dinner shows; Saturday, March 1 and Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. for non-dinner shows; and Sunday, March 2 for a 3 p.m. matinee.
Dinner shows are $20 for adults and $15 for students, and reservations are required. Non-dinner shows are $10 for adults and $8 for students with tickets available at the door.
For the Sunday, March 2, matinee, student tickets are half price. On Friday, March 7, active duty military, retired military, police and fire department personnel receive a 20 percent discount with an I.D. There are “Family Tickets” available for non-dinner shows and the matinee at $30 per family. All shows are performed at the Wooten Theater in downtown DeRidder.
The Impromptu Players are holding their annual membership drive. Tickets can be purchased for the entire 2014 season which includes dinner shows to each performance. Golden Benefactors (two tickets) are $250, Silver Benefactors (two tickets) are $200, Patrons (one ticket) are $100. Season tickets for adults are $50, for students are $35, and for a business or club (one non-dinner ticket) are $60.
Funds from the membership drive help the Impromptu Players produce three performances each season and maintain the costs of running the theater month-to-month. Donations above the ticket price are considered a tax-deductible contribution.
