Leesville HS teacher, coach booked on drug-related charges

LEESVILLE -- A Leesville High School teacher and coach was arrested Wednesday and booked on drug-related charges.

Matthew S. Morrison, 25, of Leesville, was booked on violation of uniform CDS law, drug-free zone and possession of marijuana, according to the Leesville Police Department.

Bond in the case was set at $17,500 -- $15,000 on the uniform CDS law, drug-free zone charge and $2,500 on the marijuana charge.

Morrison was booked into the Leesville City Jail.

"Officers with the Leesville Police Department responded to Leesville High School in reference to a complaint of marijuana. Officers received information leading to the arrest of Matthew Morrison," a release states.

Authorities say the case is still under investigation. No other details were released.

"This matter is under investigation and I can't make any other comments," said Vernon Parish Superintendent Jackie Self on Friday.
