Sentences imposed in 30th JDC in Vernon

VERNON PARISH -- Vernon Parish District Attorney Asa Skinner has announced that the following sentences were handed down March 11 by Division "A" Judge Vernon A. Clark:

DeAndree D. Archield, 21, of Lake Charles; sentenced to serve seven years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections and fined $1,000 plus court costs, $500 public defender's fee, $300 cost of prosecution fee and a pre-sentencing investigation fee of $100 for simple robbery. Four and one half years were suspended and he received credit for time served. When released, he will be placed on five years supervised probation. He was also sentenced to serve eight years at hard labor for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, five of the years were suspended and the defendant will be placed on four years of supervised probation upon release. The defendant was also ordered to serve three years at hard labor, with credit for time served, for conspiracy to commit simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. All of these sentences are to run concurrently. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Cameron L. Bellard, 22, of DeRidder; sentenced to serve seven years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections and fined $1,000 plus court costs, $500 public defender fee, $300 cost of prosecution fee and a pre-sentencing investigation fee of $100 for simple robbery. Brandy Lynn Cline, 27, of Fort Polk; sentenced to serve three years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, each for two counts of distribution of schedule III CDS, fined $500 in court costs, $500 public defender's fees for possession of schedule II CDS (cocaine). These sentences will run concurrently. Two years of the sentence were suspended and she will serve one year. She will then be placed on three years of supervised probation.

Raheem L. Gamble, 20, of DeRidder; sentenced to serve seven years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections and fined $1,000 plus court costs, $500 public defender's fee, $300 cost of prosecution fee and a pre-sentencing investigation fee of $100 for simple robbery. Four and a half years were suspended and he received credit for time served. When released, he will be placed on five years of supervised probation. He was also sentenced to serve eight years at hard labor for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, five of the years were suspended and the defendant will be placed on four years of supervised probation upon release. He was also ordered to serve three years at hard labor, with credit for time served, for conspiracy to commit simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. All of these sentences will run concurrently. He was also ordered to have no contact with his victim.

Jonathan Hopkins, 32, of Leesville; sentenced to serve 25 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served, for manslaughter.

Candice Jeane, 29, of Leesville; sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on five years of supervised probation, fined $500 and court costs, $500 public defender's fee for accessory after the fact. She was placed on five years of supervised probation for obstruction of justice.

Nathan A. Jeane, 28, of Leesville; sentenced to serve 12 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Two of the years are to be served without benefit of probation and parole for simple burglary of a religious building. He was also ordered to serve 12 years at hard labor for simple burglary. The sentences are to run concurrently. He was also sentenced to serve 12 years at hard labor for simple burglary, consecutive to the other sentences. The defendant, upon his release from prison, will be placed on five years of supervised probation. He was also ordered to pay $1,000 in fines and court costs, $500 public defender's fee and restitution to the victim.

Brandon W. Noil, 31, of Leesville; sentenced to serve four years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections and ordered to pay restitution to the victim in the amount of $8,892.86 for aggravated battery.

Kendall Scott Remsing, 38, of Leesville; sentenced to serve six years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, three and a half years of the sentence were suspended. After release, he will be placed on three years of supervised probation for indecent behavior with a juvenile. He was also ordered to pay $1,000 and court costs, $300 prosecution fee and a $100 pre-sentencing investigation fee. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim or the victim's family. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Octavius Demar Riggins, 30, of Leesville; sentenced to serve 10 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served, for manslaughter.
