DeRidder woman accused of stealing from employer

DERIDDER -- A DeRidder woman is accused of stealing from her employer, according to a news release from the DeRidder Police Department.

Lisa Ernst, 51, turned herself in to authorities last week.

"Ernst stated that she had been stealing money via wire transfers for approximately 11 of her 15 years of employment. Her statements were confirmed through her employer and she was subsequently booked into the BPSO jail for felony theft," a release states.

The FBI was contacted based on the wire fraud, authorities said.

The investigation continues.

Bond was set at $50,000.
