MayFest to offer music, art, vendors and food May 2-3

LEESVILLE -- Music, arts, food and crafts will highlight the annual MayFest, set May 2-3 in downtown Leesville.
The festival, sponsored by the Vernon Parish Tourism Commission, has been held for decades. It offers fun for all ages.
The festival will open at 4 p.m. Friday, May 2 on Leesville's Third Street. There will be vendors immediately and music will start at 5 p.m.
Friday’s headliner will be Frank Foster. He'll take the stage at 9 p.m.
Saturday, May 3 will begin with the Leesville Lions Club pancake breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by the Armadillo Stampede at 8 a.m. Opening ceremonies are set at 9 a.m.
Vendors will open May 3 at 8 a.m. and music begins at 10:10 a.m.
A variety of bands will take the stage throughout the day, including Mia Borders who will perform at 9 p.m. Music of all genres, however, will be held on two stages throughout the festival. Some performers will include David Locklear, Beau Shyne, Lohrs, Amy Nichol & Zydeco Soul, the Old Man Band, Marcus Davis, Henry Reggans and the Louisiana Sidemen, Mulligan Brothers, as well as others.  
Art will be displayed at Gallery One Ellleven and there will also be children's activities near the Vernon Parish Police Jury building.
Food vendors from all over the state will be at the festival, offering funnel cakes, blooming onions, BBQ, fried catfish plates, corndogs and more.
