Two booked on drug charges following Cravens traffic stop

VERNON PARISH -- Two people were booked on drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday in the parish.
According to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office, 23-year-old Samantha Janke, of Dickerson, North Dakota, and 20-year-old Jody Haymon, of Pitkin, were parked on the southeast side of Cravens Handy Stop meeting another vehicle.
Officers pulled in to investigate.
"Officers asked the subjects for consent to search the vehicle which they denied so a K-9 unit was ran on the vehicle. The subjects were found to be in possession of illegal narcotics. They were detained and transported to VPSO where they were then arrested," a news release states.
Janke was booked on possession of schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Haymon was booked on possession of schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
