Sulphur man booked on failure to register as a sex offender

CALCASIEU PARISH -- A Sulphur man has been booked into the Calcasieu Parish Jail on failure to register as a sex offender.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office authorities report that 26-year-old Raymond D. Lowery was arrested April 30 after an investigation revealed that he failed to comply with state sex offender registration law.

Authorities say Lowery was convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile in Vernon Parish in September 2009.

Lowery was jailed on $10,000 bond.
