Leesville adopts 2014-2015 budget

LEESVILLE -- The Leesville City Council on Tuesday adopted the city's proposed budget for 2014-2015.

Operating revenues for the next fiscal year sit at around $10.4 million -- $291,624 up from last fiscal year.

City officials say the hike is due to "inflation, increasing costs and increased debt service payments," among other reasons.

Expenditures are projected at over $9.9 million, and surplus dollars total $630,178 before non-cash items.

A public hearing was held Tuesday on the budget. No one showed up to speak for or against it.
