Leesville man booked on indecent behavior, sexual battery

LEESVILLE -- A Leesville man is accused of indecent behavior and sexual battery following an investigation into a complaint.

According to the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office, 70-year-old James "Jim" Limbaugh was booked July 1 into the Vernon Parish Jail.

Sheriff Sam Craft reports that investigators were contacted June 28 regarding an allegation.

Limbaugh is accused of taking a 14-year-old male to a secluded location, showing him pornographic material and inappropriately touching him.

"The juvenile was able to describe specific inappropriate sexual behavior by Limbaugh. The juvenile stated that he became fearful and left the vehicle walking," Craft said.

Craft said the juvenile was allegedly talked into getting back into the vehicle by Limbaugh at which time he was driven home.

"The juvenile indicated that Limbaugh advised during the drive to the juvenile’s residence that he shouldn’t tell anybody about the incident," Craft said. "Detectives did interview Limbaugh at which time he did admit to inappropriate sexual behavior with the juvenile."

Limbaugh was booked on indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of sexual battery. Bond was set at $50,000.

He posted bond and was released.

The investigation continues.
