Beauregard Memorial Hospital competing in "Pink Glove Dance" contest

FROM STAFF REPORTS
DERIDDER -- Beauregard Memorial Hospital is competing in the "Pink Glove Dance" video contest, which aims to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Videos are created by hospitals and communities all over the country -- and beyond. They include narratives and dance. Participants usually wear pink medical gloves.

Jessica Stinley, PR/Marketing Assistant for BMH, said this is the second time the hospital has participated. She said this year, the hospital's community partner is the Dixie Youth Darlings All-Star Team.

"We are so excited to participate in this amazing collaboration of efforts to raise money for breast cancer awareness," Stinley said.

To enter, you must donate a minimum of $2,000 to a charity that supports breast cancer patients and survivors. You must also partner with a community team or organization.

People can vote on the best video through Sept. 23. Winners will be announced on Oct. 2 -- during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The first place winner will get $10,000 for the breast cancer charity of their choice, and second place gets $5,000. An overall winner will be chosen and awarded $15,000.
