Qualifying for Nov. 4 election set today through Friday

Qualifying for the Nov. 4 primary election will be today through Friday, Aug. 20-22, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office.

Candidates qualify at parish clerk of court's offices.

Early voting for the Nov. 4 election will be Oct. 21-28.

The general election is slated Dec. 6. Any primary runoffs will be determined on that date.

On the fall ballot:

Races for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Associate Justice, district judges, district attorney, school board members, justice of the peaces and constables.

In Vernon Parish:

To be decided this fall: Hornbeck mayor, chief of police and aldermen; Leesville city court judge and city court marshal; and Rosepine mayor, chief of police and aldermen. Also, the election for the vacant Leesville District 4 councilman seat is planned for that date.
